Under the auspices of V St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum

The meeting was attended by distinguished guests from the consulate of the Republic of Hungary, representatives of partner theaters, leading theater and music critics of St. Petersburg.

 
Professional dialogue was intended to take the interim results from the unprecedented creative and organizational point of view, cooperation between the two theaters. And also to outline prospects for further development of professional relationships.

From the history of cooperation:
The premiere of the first joint Russian-Hungarian play on the stage of Theatre of Musical Comedy was held in 2006. In the version of one of the recognized masters of the world operetta scene Miklos Sinetar was presented a brilliant operetta by Franz Lehar's "The Merry Widow". Luxury setting, full of humor and glamor of this operetta, still is loved by viewers and collects notices. As, however, and other Russian-Hungarian performances premiere of which was carried out in recent years on the stage musical comedy.Creative tandem of Budapest and St. Petersburg theaters gave fans of the genre more than ten productions large and small forms. Among them - a well-known hits of "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss, "Bayadere", "Countess Maritza" and "The Violet of Montmartre" I. Kalman, "Parisian Life" by J. Offenbach and previously unknown Russian audience operetta "Baroness Lily" by E. Houska, musical "Over and over again with you" by S. Daniels, "Jekyll and Hyde" by F. Wildhorn, "Land of smiles" by F. Lehar, and others.

 Thanks to the cooperation of the two theaters were made possible an exchange tour leading soloists operetta singers. The Russian audience is almost the first time he met with Hungarian performing schools and European principles of the performance in the operetta genre. Meanwhile, it is worth recalling that the Hungarian operetta culture is unique and is part of the national heritage. The new creative stream, which brought together performances in the life of St. Petersburg Musical Comedy has become, undoubtedly, positive experiences that influenced the further development of the theater. It is not only creative, but also technical innovations became available to Russian specialists. And the opportunity to conduct a professional dialogue with European colleagues brought theater to a new level of development, putting on a par with other leading musical theaters of Europe.

2-4 December 2016 the Gala concert dedicated to the 10th anniversary of cooperation between the St. Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy Theatre and the Budapest Operetta and Musical (Hungary) will take place on the stage of the St. Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy.
