In the end of October, the St. Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy will take part in the festival "Opera Mauritius 2018" on the island of Mauritius.

The theater is represented by the soloist laureate of international competition Natalia Savchenko and the chief conductor of the theatre honored artist of Russia Andrey Alekseev.

Within the framework of the festival, on October 25, they will perform with a concert in which the brightest arias from the operettas by I. Kalman, F. Lehar, I. Strauss, R. Stolz, K.M. Ziehrer and others will be performed, as well as the instrumental works of A. Piazzola.

The festival has been held by the Opera Mauritius Foundation for several years. The main event is the demonstration of one of the famous operas, prepared with the participation of local performers and invited from abroad orchestra. The festival also includes performances of individual soloists and music performers from different countries.


This year the festival is dedicated to operetta. The main event will be the screening of the operetta “The Merry Widow”  by F. Legar with the participation of local performers and a symphony orchestra from Germany.
